Announcement of Selection for the Critical Technologies Development Program in Economic Security!

We are pleased to announce that the Cyber Research Consortium, of which Powder Keg Technologies is a member, has been selected as the implementing organization for the Advanced Cyber Defense and Analytical Capability Enhancement project under the Critical Technologies Development Program in Economic Security.

Powder Keg Technologies Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Ota-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Masato Hamamura), as a supporting member, is part of the Cyber Research Consortium (CRC). The CRC has been selected by the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) as the implementing organization for research and development under the "Advanced Cyber Defense and Analytical Capability Enhancement" project. This selection is part of the "Critical Technologies Development Program in Economic Security" (commonly known as the "K Program"), which is promoted in collaboration with relevant ministries and agencies.

Objectives and Overview of the "Advanced Cyber Defense and Analytical Capability Enhancement" Project

  • Develop technologies that contribute to improving situational awareness by collecting and analyzing information in cyberspace, including early detection of sophisticated and unknown attacks, and technologies that enable the acquisition of more information from attackers, leading to practical societal applications.
  • Develop technologies that contribute to strengthening defense capabilities, such as AI-driven vulnerability detection and assessment technologies, post-quantum cryptography implementation technologies, and automation technologies for verification methods such as penetration testing*. These technologies will also be implemented in society.
  • Optimize and build a shared information infrastructure. Additionally, develop and deploy technologies for the evaluation and management of highly skilled cybersecurity personnel.

*Penetration testing refers to evaluating risks by attempting to infiltrate systems using known techniques, helping prevent unauthorized access or tampering.
